Thread regarding Sears layoffs

DM visiting... oh hurry clean the store up

Why not just leave as is to prove you have to have a staffed store of more than 1 person to do RAD/RAN

The frantic pace to clean up for the DM is a joke!!! The DM should pitch in and help.. I’m sure with their store count shrinking they have the time!! Show us you care

@2kqt eventually that will be the reason for visit by DM

I’d be more worried that the reason the DM is coming is to tell you the store is closing.

@2mdl - I've seen something written on here before about "carpets on the doors". What does that mean? Was that some kind of initiative from corporate to protect the doors? We've actually got carpet tacked to one of the the MPU doors.

Scientology is very expensive if you get into it. That guy must be really overpaid.

Tell the DM that he/she is a genuine waste of oxygen.

I worked with all of these stooges on a daily for six years and can attest that each one is useless. Same thing goes for the RVPs. How they manage to wipe their own backsides or tie their own shoes is beyond me.

Scientology huh? No offense to any scientologists on here but it's kind of perfect.

Another red flag went up when the boss started espousing LRon Hubbard. Sorry, good luck with that one . Time to exit.

Yep. Our DM comes around about once every few months. Makes a big production of it while he stays in hotels, eats at nice restaurants, drives nice rental cars. He spends around 1 hour in our store and tells us what needs to be changed (which is the exact opposite of what he told us needs to be changed the last time he was here). And then leaves. Every day he wants pictures of what we did and every day what he wants done is the opposite of what he told us to do last week. We put things on the trims, now he doesnt want anything on the trims. We clean out the back room, now he wants less stuff on the floor. We clean the store from top to bottom, now he doesnt care. On and on and on trying to justify the existance of his job.

You wd think that the overpaid DMs would be trying different ways to get customers into “ their” assigned allotment of stores

But all they can figure out to make money is by cutting emoloyee hours which is NOT working..

I think a better idea is to cut the DM role completely across the board! That wd save a ton of money

Too many layers of upper management

In a dying company

Going up the ladder after RM what are the next obsolete positions!

Back when the company was doing great , someone in Auditing let it slip that a visit to our store cost a minimum of $40000.

The guy and his entourage came in, looked it over , rearranging the floor plan a little , and then after a boozed up lunch -!left. Other stores called trying to find out what the guy was looking for . His "improvements" costs even more money that was never recovered .

DMs are a layer of SHLD management that could be eliminated without any consequence to store operations. They are just a bunch of impudent, finicky, and ineffectual windbags!

DMs shd be eliminated..their jobs folded into the Regional Managers job duties

Ours comes around every 2-4 months..preaching how great the company is and how business is great blah blah blah!!what do they do except justify laying off people and dreaming up ideas how to do more with less and less people..while justifying the need for their role

What would happen if you didn't clean up? Nothing. The DM doesn't have the power to close a store and his job is on the chopping block any day now. He knows it too.
