CVS was losing thousands if rxs a week company wide to pillpak, who just got a whole boatload or money behind them.
Amazon just bought their way into the pharmacy world and bypassed the regulatory process of starting their own by doing this.
It’s Aetna or bust at this point. Company response to fight this isn’t pretty, we cannot scale like amazon especially when we are pot committed resources to this Aetna merger.
We should all understand the pie of retail pharmacy is getting smaller and smaller. The potential to grow the pharmacy business is no longer as bright as it was two years ago. Wall Street investors don't want to invest in company with- declining fs and pharmacy
Sales , declining margins(Amazon will go as low as no margin to take share),higher operating expenses ( all the employee raises the company just gave out) remodels and adding over 72 billion in debt. Needless to say the final straw is poor leadership with too much middle management that doesn't produce a dime along with store that have no help or service. What part did I not cover for a company that will struggle for years too come?
CVS will have to up its game. The big delivery players are not charging. If we go free delivery, guess where those dollars will come from?
They're not concerned with the brick n mortar. They're going after the middlemen (PBMs, Supply chain, etc.). This is our bread n butter at CVS. We're going to get punched
Thanks, Larry. Please tell us again how we stopped selling cigarettes. We need to announce that again.
Mr. Merlo needs to join his Macy's friends in the ruination of a different company.
F-ck amazon. They can’t put every store in the country out. People don’t want to buy the items they could get at cvs from amazon. Once you’ve tripped over the mountain of cardboard boxes in your garage you realize some things need to be bought in person. We already compete with mail order, that’s who they’re competing against. I see retail drug stores holding up well. Large scale retail stores aren’t as lucky. Yes I saw the stock price, that’s what it’s been averaging, it’s been unusually high lately it was going to go back to its average.
