Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

Who else is dreading this week?

Long gone are the days when I enjoyed working at Southwestern. Now if I get a day or week that I'm not dreading going into work, it's a win for me. It's really sad how much things have changed for the worse.

I can't afford to lose my job right now, so this week will be a nightmare. Hopefully after this, those still standing will at least get some time to relax.

Be on alert for a 5am broadcast email that is full of the “blame game” and excuses “why it happened again”.... that’s when you’ll know it’s coming.

There’s only so many times you can step in the same pile of dog $hit before you have to be replaced as the leader of an organization.

So to the first reply .... if it’s really been that bad you’ve had ample opportunity to leave .. even on the outer limits, after 9 months or so, you would’ve put done the severance .

Inertia is powerful, but life is also short

Doubt those still standing get any relaxation, they will quickly re-org your group, if not done already and dump crap loads of work on you and stress the heck outta you, no way anyone can run from that. Your patience will be tested and I guarantee those still standing will consider employment elsewhere. I know cause I was one of the "lucky employees" left standing after the 2016 layoffs and was worked like a slave. Looking back, I wish I was one of those offered my papers to be dismissed from SWN.
