Wave of Raleigh DC stores closing because of leases coming due??

Was told several more CQ stores served from Ral DC will be closed soon. The reason given to employees was that bldg leases were coming due soon & were not going to be renewed. A dozen stores all with the same lease date expiration? Hmmmm.

Agreed, why would another company want any part of Advance ?

What parts of AAP would Napa or O'Reilly possibly want? They would be better off just letting it die a slow, painful death... clearance sale on retail fixtures in aisle 4...

The reason we were given as to our closing was that " we didn't make a profit". Well, I find this hard to believe considering this store has been in business for over 20 years as a CQ, and if we were not profitable, we would've been closed long ago. In the end, all of the reasons that they give are complete BS, and really its just a plan to squash any remaining lost sales to a CQ store. AAP will go belly up within 2 years and will be bought out by Napa or O'Reilly's.

Good luck to em.

AAP is the Bozo in the entire parts industry. Just look at the leadership at AAP then compare to NAPA and O’Reillys. Horribly outgunned.

NAPA is gaining most of that business daily as it should be because they truly understand and continue growing the Commercial Customer!

AAP doesn’t deserve that business because they are the BOZO the clown to volume commercial customers!

Advance continues to stick the knife in your back and twist it more and more until all that was once good is gone. CARQUEST was once a great company, not anymore.

We are just informed that our store is closing at the end of July. Have also noticed that the Raleigh DC has fewer and fewer in stock items like eco box oil, and basic commodities

All of the property on which CQ stores are located in the Raleigh area is owned by the Sloan family. The leases were all created when AAP bought CQ and the leases expire at the end of this year.

All CQ locations will be closed as leases expire. The PC term is “consolidated”but the end result is the same. The CQ customers overall do not transition to an AAP location and the sales are lost to competitors. This has and will continue nationwide.
