Thread regarding Sears layoffs

It's been real

Get out while you can , don't bother with turning out the lights. The Mall will tell you to leave them on anyway. There is no honor in being the last one out , just go .It's time

LMAO. That is unheard-of, for a mall store's entrance into the mall to be shut down while the store is still operating. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of a mall.

Staying til your store closes just means you are the biggest idiot and don’t have common sense to find something better. Sears cut all the full timers and doesn’t care about it’s employees.

LOL about the comment about leaving the lights on per the mall's request. We were asked to keep certain parking lot lights on for security reasons by the mall and later by the local PD. Our DM refused on the basis of "energy conservation".

Well, we've had several instances of overnight grafitti vandalism on the back of our store (and some overnight alarm calls due to attempted break-ins thru the rear entrances and truck bays) because they ignored the advice of the mall management and the PD. Unfortunately the vandal splayed their work all over the mall property adjacent to us which was the very area they wanted us to turn the lights on. Heard through the grapevine that the mall management was none too pleased with us after that happened.

Next, the contract we had for the mall to do the lawn care/parking lot maintenance came up for renewal with an increase in their fee apparently. That contract was not renewed and so the QMT or the backroom does the groundskeeping and they use a mower taken out of store stock.

Right around the same time, the contract for the easement into the mall was up for renewal. Instead of keeping that contract and continuing to pay the fee, we have the entrance into the mall closed off.

So, yes, it doesn't seem like Sears Holdings has any rapport with the malls

or shopping centers they occupy, especially if they own that location rather than rent.
