Sears Holdings is a big chain with hundreds of locations across America. A brand new Kmart just opened inside a Sears store in Brooklyn. Do people understand the significance of this? Kmart and Sears could grow again once profitable. Together as one company with two legacies. Proudly continuing the Kresge/Sears legacy! The best of both names in one powerhouse store. And yes, 800 locations is huge, it's a powerhouse of American iconic retailing!

As you can read it says that there will be continued operations.
In the US these are known as weasel words lol , ongoing master lease for some or all of the stores to allow for their continued operation." - They did not specify operation of what , continued operation could mean redevelopment into something else and continuing to collect rent. Really , you should know this . Politicians use weasel words to lie every day and after they tell you it wasn't a lie , YOU misunderstood. Please familiarize yourself with US common usage of colloquial phrasing, double speak, weasel words, and half truths before you allow your employer to back you into a corner, without understanding the basic general nuances of American English.
And maybe they will start giving raises, update the 1980's look, give holiday pay back, and maybe just maybe if you wish hard enough upon a shooting star, you might find a magical unicorn just over the rainbow.

What Eddie problem is the upper management. Hey Eddie, you cannot have a bunch of yes men and women who do whatever they are told and run a successful company.
Eddie is a hands off guy. He is a real estate guy. He is a financial guy. And those he has put in charge of the retail end of things are clueless. They are only trying to justify and save their own jobs
Note to Eddie: Kmart and Sears can make you money but you must get rid of the bloat at the DM, RM and corporate level. They are just leading you down the path to losing money. Get yourself some DM's, reiional managers and corporate people who know the business and you will not only get tons of real estate but also a profitable viable business to grow other businesses. THese people should have the guts to tell you what needs to be done and you have to have the humilty to listen.

I don't think it's impossible that someone is being paid to post here. If you think about some of Eddie's off the wall expenditures- the blue light debacle for one - it could happen. Kinda funny when you think about it. Too desperate. Guess they don't realize that if they really were having a successful come back, there would be no need to trumpet it here....

I don't think SHC would pay for someone to write pieces on here, a layoff board, in an attempt to put a positive spin on the company.
This board probably sees about 200-300 active participants (people who visit daily), many of whom are former employees who quit, laid off or were fired. Many others are current employees, myself included, who come here to get information we wouldn't get from upper management. Why would a company pay someone to troll a layoff site and attempt a brainwashing? This is the wrong target audience. Their PR efforts would be better suited to hold a press conference to spread the "all is good" BS to news outlets.
I truly believe that the person behind this Kmart rah-rah is just a troll, someone who isn't "paid" to do this, but possibly a former, disgruntled employee who might be a bit unstable. I believe this individual doing this out of their own volition. He or she knows deep inside that Kmart and Sears are done but figures they'd have a little "fun" writing multiple long-winded pieces a week, spouting off nonsense and looking like the "village idiot" to get a reaction out of everyone.
I have a really hard time believing that the Kmart cheerleader we have here truly believes what they write, or for that matter, anyone who knows and understands the situation at SHC from the top down. Even most SHC executives see the writing on the wall. Look at how many have come and gone; some so quickly that they probably hadn't fully settled into their office before they decided to leave.
I called out this person for being a paid PR social media contractor, and someone else said they were likely in India, based on how they structured their sentences. That thread quickly disappeared. It seems like they are trying harder to make it sound like they are native American English speakers. But that seems unlikely. Anyway, these glowing posts are going to do nothing to help the people in 99% of stores that are going to close, nor those people who will lose their jobs as a result. Perhaps the PR coordinator can speak to that, instead of trying to pump up the company. Who cares whether Kmart survives, if we all lose our jobs?

the new kmart convenience sections of sears are nothing more than space fillers from empty lands end spaces where they have set up their own stores and vacated the sears store. It's part of a distribution center liquidation strategy disguised as a turnaround plan to meet the requirements of the inevitable coming chapter 11 to 7 process . Please introduce yourself to reality
1 tiny store in a store replacing many full size stores is not growth any way you spin it.

Too bad sales/revenue/margin/editda/profit/store growth/layoffs/media attention/public awareness/bond ratings just don't reflect this greatness. Not one bit.
Looked busy and a big hit with shoppers in the photos that were in the articles about it! Kmart is loved by their loyal customers.
