UK Roadshow - Chorley

So today a few of our esteemed leaders came down to Chorley...

Couple of things worth sharing...

It’s was boring, dull, drab, copied slides and just all round repetitive bull sh-- for 1 hour

They must have made angreement to nod when either one answered the question

The HR guy gave you a business update... like when was the last time you saw HR talking about growth strategies and wonga?

Nothing forthcoming in the form of improvements for employees. No training. No rises.

Facebook is the future, sorry workplace. They can’t be arsed sending you comms so will post on there, if you can’t be arsed joining the UKIIMEA group on Facebook then tough sh--. Oh and a manager who I won’t name... part of the inner circle didn’t realise that he was on the wrong Facebook group for UKIIMEA.

It’s all digital now, not cloud, not next gen, not app modernisation. Digital means that we will get more cuts, and eventually end up with no staff but more consultancy type roles.

They admitted they can’t compete with AWS or Azure, so they will onboard their client to sign up to the big boys, whilst conceding that we will end up doing the sh-- old gen work because our clients not only won’t trust us, but also that we can’t give them what they want.

In housing is the future, most of their big logos have in housed.

UK is in major decline, best case scenario is flat line by Q4.

They will sign two new logos tomorrow, good news for Erskine and other northerners.

To summarise, present is sh--, future will be sh--ter. Even more so if your in the north west.

PS they could do away with Chorley if they can get BAE to agree a move to Warrington.

Well both locations start with CH and for many in the manglement team thats enough for them to be indistinguishable ..... maybe they are both going to close and move to Chennai?

I was in a meeting the other day when someone asked how is Digital any different than what we do now. And they couldn't really answer. It was so funny

Theres gossip that the Chorley office will be closed and people relocated to a brand new DXC office a few miles away (hasn't been built yet).

Anyone who believes this is nuts! DXC just isn't making enough money in the UK to justify any spend.

Theres only one way here this can play out. Chorley will be closed and employees will be offered a deal to relocate, but it will be to relocate to...........Chesterfield.

Right now, there is a big WFR push to get rid of "home workers" in the UK. looks like HR is closing down this "homeworking" option before the big Chorley cull.

You heard it here first.............

Man, am I bloody glad I got out of that sh1thole, with a great payout, 1 1/2 years ago. This company is a result of severe mis-management that has finally caught up with this total fiasco. My advice is to get out before Titanic II hits the iceberg! Very sad.....

I don't have time to go to these, with my ever increasing workload, caused by the redundancies.

Thanks forvthe update. Sad to hear the company thinks uk in decline. Yet i work for a company that cant keep up with the demand for modernisation. Mind you, we're only sme...so perhaps the big boys know it is cheaper just to do it yourself on aws and azure...as it is so damned eady and scaleable

Spelling and grammar mistakes are intentional, I’m sat on the throne and I couldn’t give a sh-- about checking it over.
