Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

Lack of direction

True leaders create a vision all or most stakeholders rally around. The current leadership at Pearson has done little to calm the fears of those who have been the face of the company to customers. Without internal support of a vision, the desired outcome will crumble. Being told they need to accept change and get on board will never get an organization to gel. It’s clear the senior management of Pearson is only looking at stockholders as customers. Authors and faculty do not believe in the Pearson offer. Just being large no longer commands influence. The company is losing adoptions and supporters in large quantities, then asks the sales group why. Poor vision, lack of leadership, and lack of program support are the reasons. Pearson claims to be an education company that doesn’t seem to learn from the mistakes made.

Pearson has literally lost a generation of talent over the last 5 years by putting profits ahead of developing and treating the employees the company with respect. Customers feel it in the reduces quality of the products and the lack of service. It's just sad!

The only thing that senior leadership has to have then approval of is the shareholders once they have lost that they are toast. They do not care about anything or anyone else and that is obvious

Very true, for all the buzz over the last 5 years about "Efficacy", the company could not be less efficacious in the way it has handled it's human resources. The reality is that Pearson SR Leadership doesn't give a rip about their customers, employees or least of all products. It's all a short term point of view to appear lean on a balance sheet. The good news is for everyone who truly bought into the notion of improving lives through education, is that there are literally thousands of ex-pearson alumni working to advance educational technology and resources for any number of competitors in the market.
