Thread regarding Barnes & Noble Inc. layoffs

More and more people think our days are numbered

On a positive side, while it's becoming clear that Barnes & Noble will not survive as it is, if at all, more and more people are rallying to save us. And more and more people are realizing what Amazon truly is and how dangerous it can become (or at least I hope so.)

Barnes & Noble didn't care very much about the smaller bookstores it smothered years ago.

Agree with @TIQJe-off. Amazon hurt, but B&N did most of this to themselves. Thought they were the top dog and didn't care much anymore.

Recently was at a store recently and saw they were selling soaps and pillows and bird houses. They didn't have any Mark Twain titles in the stacks other than Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer.

Should Barnes & Noble list itself as a charity so that people will pay to save it? Amazon has hurt a lot of people but business is about competition. Barnes & Noble management needs to adapt and provide what it is people want. If they do that, they will be fine. Amazon is not the problem.
