Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Dear SBA Director and Manager - a report on what I did this week.

Purged dated Salesforce opportunities.

One day later, put them back into Salesforce with a new date and description.

Put random opportunities in that are not even close to being real.

Bumped up my close numbers all the while fully knowing nothing additional was won.

Played a few rounds of golf with a few other manufacturer reps.

Checked my voicemails from last week.

Went to the beach and put my phone on ignore.

Put in for my remaining vacation time to use up prior to my calling it quits with SP/Staples.

Secured two new good positions and offers from different companies.

Looking forward to walking into your offices and telling you I have had enough of this crap hole.

LOL!

This original post is spot on. Garbage in, garbage out- this is reality. SBA has folks doing this for years. What a flipping joke.

Ethics? Ha. Nonexistent at Staples, especially within the SBA segment.

Training isn't the issue. Ethics is the issue.

"Generate x amount of dollars in opportunities per week or your job's in jeopardy."

Of course people are going to make stuff up.

Salesforce was rolled out entirely wrong at Staples, at least for SBA. The training was inept and non descript without clarity as to how to enter Opportunities, move them along thru the infamous “pipeline”, responsible team members, etc. The sales forecasting info is so wrong it’s pathetic. They have no one to blame but themselves. It’s safe to say 3/4’s of the Opportunities are false with fictional dollar amounts. You can thank RSD’sand RVP’s for perpetuating the situation as they have no acumen nor skills to motivate their sales people. Tri-State New York is a perfect example of rampant ineptitude and failure.

Check Staples' Reddit.

You'll get a more detailed answer from the moderators there, if not from current employees.

@TEszeuf-1yyp can you be more specific? Are you referring to US Retail, the Canadian business unit, or North American Delivery?

"We want a good future here at Staples, not one filled with negativity!"

This is a layoff site. Who comes here to read good things about a company that's laying people off?

Staples has a Reddit if you want to read something good, because laid off folks will have nothing good to say.

And, if you're referring to the Indian that posted earlier... well, if you talk about Indians who's only crime was applying for jobs, they're bound to get pissed sooner or later.

HR: Please check who makes 65K a year in IT and freeze their computer systems to discover if they are the person submitting vile words. We want a good future here at Staples, not one filled with negativity!

Hmmm.

One poster who Identifies as Indian makes $65k a year.

Another poster who identifies as American made $45k a year.

A third poster, who didn't identify, but can be assumed to be American, claims to have made $130k a year.

Either Staples' pay scale is non-existant, the posters are/were in different IT positions, or someone is simply embellishing.

In either case, I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to take credit for IT at Staples considering how bad the infrastructure is/was, so I think it's safe to assume everyone's probably trolling at this point.

Anyway, this is a layoff site. If you aren't laid off, or don't think you will be, or don't care... what's the point of visiting this site? This is for people who are seeking important information, and none of this commentary is helpful.

If you don't have real information, perhaps you can refrain from commenting...?

The weather is good I suppose. Of course, I wouldn't know because I'm here in the states fixing you Americans mess. I wouldn't be in such high demand if Americans had their sh-- together.

But, no worries. I'll take the $65,000 a year you Americans are paying me to make your stuff better.

HA HA HA HA HA.... You clowns from you know where have destroyed STAPLES.....

This person IS employed by S.P./Staples. This employee is just fully aware of what is going down. What is going down is Staples as we have known it. It is a doomed company.

I love this kind play that makes all the idiots to respond with nasty post.

I think it’s great when someone jumps for a life vest from this crap company.

Geez.

I sure hope none of that is true because I only made $45k working IT at Staples, and that would mean they're paying foreigners much more than the Americans they replaced.

That s---s....

@TEszeuf-csd

Heh...you just proved/verified what (I believe) we all - ok, I - suspected and that has NOTHING to do with the amount of $$$$ you "brag" about making (which is "bread crumbs", BTW).

Thanks!

2 closing thoughts to share with you:

  1. May YOU live in interesting times.

  2. Karma is a B@#$H (enjoy it/make the best of it while it lasts).
