Did anything concrete come out of it in the end?

Federal Watchdog Launches Investigation of Age Bias at IBM

If you were laid off recently and suspect age discrimination, you should file a complaint with the EEOC, as many others have done. Most people being fired by IBM are age 55 or above. You can do so even if you signed the severance, it's easy, and don't need an attorney, see https://www.eeoc.gov/employees/howtofile.cfm.
We'll see - there are two sides of this story - if a good law firm gets its hands on a sizable class action our attorney team may have a formidable opponent for once. Wait and see.
Guarantee nothing will come out of it. Big Blue and their legal team can fight till hell freezes over and then outsource hell to boot. Sounds nice but Ginny survives, the BoD does nothing and every executive in Armonk collects their checks. Happy all around
