I am getting sick of reading posts about lazy union guys and contractors who think they are awesome and vice versa. Guess what? There are awesome union guys and there are sh--ty ones, but that is the same for other CTL employees and contractors too. The point is, there are people who are worrying about their jobs everyday, and that s---s! CTL is being shady about all of it. It s---s for all involved, leave the bickering out of the posts. I check this site in hopes to get a little heads up on where things are heading, hoping that I still have my job when I go to work. So, if you're on here just to talk sh-- please find another avenue to do so.

Agree as a contractor. I will not go back to work with CenturyLink. But have been contacted through verizon and frontier. CenturyLink is so far behind in technology its ridiculous. I hope everyone finds good fortune with or without ctl.
I don't think its about Union people being lazy. Its about their sense of entitlement. In any case its not just Union people getting laid off and its not just former CTL. Plenty of former TW, Global and Level 3 people are getting let go as well. We are all in this together.
AGREE that is why am calling out JEFF STORY , RICHARD BARELLAN , FRED LAWLER , this is about being underhanded and cowardly in the way in which they are eliminating jobs. Business exists to make a profit .. blah blah blah yeah everyone know this . I know the people defending management, business, the reality of working for a company, maximizing profit, existing for shareholders blah blah are not the people who have lost their job or are trying to figure out when they will lose their job.
I completely agree with what the poster is saying. Things are being done by the company in a rather underhanded way. They are not being open and honest. The stuff about union vs non union is ridiculous. School is out. Grow up. This is life changing. Job vs no job. Retire vs don’t retire. Take a Pkg vs don’t take a Pkg. This is what’s important. The other stuff is stupid.
I agree with you. Sad we have to go online to get info about our jobs. But it is a reality and always going to be trolls on forums. Probably contractors and upper management love to wreck havoc. Florida has had major cuts to craft and SRO. Not sure what dept and state you are in but if you are an outside tech, chances are high you will get a package or boot depending if you have a contract.
