Interesting read: https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/ceo-pay-ratio/
you got a 1% raise? That's more than 80% of the rest of us.
Right - you can't take old sayings and apply them to today. The scope and view corporations have has greatly expanded. Business/gov/etc can't s--- the tit dry without consequences therefor it has more responsibility than just making money.
That being said - who cares what TT makes? Will his lower salary mean you get more? The dude looks out for himself and his family. He's not a leader - just a business man looking to get rich.
That was also said during a time where business taxes were coming down from 94%. Present time I would say that model might be a bit outdated
“There is one and only one social responsibility of business–to use it resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits so long as it stays within the rules of the game, which is to say, engages in open and free competition without deception or fraud” -Milton Friedman
We generated a loss for multiple quarters and Based on comparable companies TT is overcompensated by about 500%. I don't seem to remember having my pay scale adjusted by 23.22% over the past few years.
He needs at least another 500% raise according to his current track record of building wealth for the WS stockholder lol. I believe he is in the works of laying off another 4000 employees by 2021 to fund this.
