Has anyone heard about PUT going away ?

Yep. Pick up associates were told today that in 60 days they will no longer be needed in that position. The tower is being installed in our store.
Pick Up Today isn't going anywhere. They are sinking a whole lotta money into online shopping so they don't have to pay associates to help customers. They would rather customers order on line and only have one person in PUT dealing with the customer. In some stores they have pick up towers that don't require an associate at all to take care of customers. The customers merchandise is stored in the tower so the customer puts in their order number or name and phone number in the keyosk and the tower opens up with their item. Like a huge vending machine. They just spent billions on these towers. They won't do away with PUT now.
What is put?
