Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Is there an end in sight?

Or is this reimbursement investigation going to continue indefinitely?

This is affecting mood and morale at the office majorly. People who genuinely took advantage of the perk as it was offered are scared that they will find a way to make it seem as if they did something wrong.

This really needs to have an end date somewhere in sight.

Omg.. what’s going on? 200 ppl fired for this? I personslly didnt see anywhere what to do in case of return. Are all locations targetted? Were investment managers caught and fired to? Has this ended on May 11th?

Is this ended? Is this limited to just reps? Any firing at Boston locations yet?

What I find ironic is the fact that Fidelity has a purposeful policy of not paying reps for all of their sales production. Reps easily and repeatedly are robbed of at least 15-20% of their sales production due to the fact that Fidelity simply will not pay it. Branch reps are repeatedly screwed out of thousands of dollars owed to them due to Fidelity’s completely screwed up comp system that is really a purposeful policy of skimming the rightful earnings of the reps that produce the revenue for the company

Fidelity HR is basically the Planet of the Apes’ “Defenders of the Faith” and Corporate Communications is basically George Orwell’s 1984 “Thought Police”. Let that sink in.

You all need to either leave or fight back and unionize so you can at leat get this type of BS in front of a third party arbitrator. So glad I am out of that toxic workplace.

P.s. look into how much those guys who were let go for s-xual harrassment, a real crime, walked away with in severance benefits.

The three people in my division were approved for backfills and have reqs open - may be different for each group depending on headcount and 2018 planning

all of the people canned due to this that i know were not backfilled. that's pretty much proof that this is a covert layoff.

Whatever they said is going to be used against them when this goes to court.

I agree, this is very harmful to the day to day morale and culture of the company. Wish HR would address it and communicate in some way.

Obviously the corporate communication guys are on this thread. Fidelity as a company makes mistakes all the time. they are mistakes. Buying an item, returning it for something mor expensive and not submitting a new receipt is a mistake.

Under the witch hut, that is going to get you fired. Know your facts and stop tooting the good little Fidelity marching line

Fraud implies some sort of intent to deceive. That wasnt always the case and some have issues with the way Fidelity treated some of their loyal workers that made honest human mistakes. There were some that were perpetual offenders and those should have been fired years ago but the fact the few that made a one time human error also got treated the same is disappointing. It just shows Fidelity's character as a company.

People committed fraud by returning reimbursed items without returning the reimbursement. That’s it. And that’s fraud. Stop blaming Fidelity for going after scammers.

If you are an active employee and you are not outraged and actively looking to get the real story to the public than you deserve to be fired. Your silence only supports the major wrong doing by the company. If you just sit there in your office, they will perp walk you out at some point! Stop sitting there and do something about it!

Calm down man..... I was terminated too. No corporate line BS. Just go look for another job.

Everyone should be worried. Stop your corporate line bs. If you submitted any documentation to wageworks, Fidelity could find something wrong with it. If Fidelity wants to reach a certain number of job cuts, they will find a way to job eliminate you.

Honestly you should be only worried if you returned something back to the store. If anyone did, then just start looking for another job.

There has to be a cost to this and the returns will diminish at some point.
