Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Constructive Dissmissal

Just saying ; it’s apparent that as times are getting harder to maintain a sense of professional ethics , doubling down on workers is not your best direction to go .

There is a risk register with risk to brand reputation and employee engagement, but like most risks in DXC it doesn't go anywhere without irrefutable evidence; 3 senior approvals of a fully costed impact exposure and a warm cup of goats blood.

Ethics of a company should be driven from the very top. But even with the full Marvel Comic power of McKinsey, I still don't think Darth Vader would have been successful in branding the Death Star as an equal opportunities employer; providing high levels of employment; a good career path with a strong community focus in supporting of schools against poverty.

The company is what it is. We all know HPE and CSC had strong culture even without the 'posters'. Whereas now all you have IS the posters! It only needs to "look the part" to protect itself in court. it's treatment of its loyal employees does leave it exposed to internal and external threats.

How does it reduce risk?

  1. Have DXC honestly assessed their actual needs and resources to address these areas of vulnerability? The environment is not a conducive one for 'whistle-blowers' right now. People would rather keep quiet and hang onto their job for fear of retribution.

  2. Have DXC set a strong foundation of ethical culture? The risk will only grow where someone doesn't believe their position is valued and thus may overlook what's going on around them or feel that the worst punishment they can receive for not following the rules is no worse than being riffed anyway!

  3. Have DXC built a culture of integrity from the top down? That can be a bitter pill to swallow when people at the top get disproportionately high rewards for the sort of below-par performance that everyone else is seemingly beaten up with.

  4. Does DXC keep a "values focus" in moments big and small? Their HR policies are clearly not aimed at humans and favour the company over people. Reward mechanisms are few and far between and require more approvals than Hollywood's Foreign press!

So yeah, I agree. Doubling down on workers is not going to improve ethical behaviour.

There are no professional ethics in DXC. it wont be long before beating, rape and any form of theft would be the norm.
