Thread regarding IBM layoffs

A quiet week

It's been a quiet week here at IBM. People that were cut don't care any more (good for them) and people that weren't cut are just wondering what happens next. When a team is cut 75% the geniuses that chose the people should have to tell the rest of us what work we should stop doing. But that would take leadership. Instead each person left decides for themselves and if something doesn't get done it's nobody's fault. That is why IBM is dying.

We were just told to reassess our skills. Must be another one soon.

We were individually categorized into roles we do not perform and then had to do an assessment of our skills in those roles with our manager present. Naturally, we could not meet but a no-skill or a heard-of-the-skill level. That must be how you beat the age-discrimination accusations as i am 32 years and 60. Preparing to be shown the door.

I am out of IBM now but there was rarely any communication after an RA to the others in the company or on the immediate team.

The faster IBM dies, the better. Apple is going to acquire the rest.
