Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Is this true?

Most Kmarts in the northeast or Mid-atlantic. Regional taking a tour this week to announce or preparing to announce.

Pretty telling that they announce and celebrate a profit in 4Q and then close more stores. What you do does not matter, SHC is dead and gone.

Any more info on this?

They close profitable stores also. I know our store was profitable and they did not renew our lease and we closed last year. Another store in our district was profitable but was owned by SHC and they closed it and sold it to Seritage. Now it is a Dave and Busters and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Kmarts are all safe. Closing were fake news again.

I'd be very surprised, Kmart is really starting to power ahead. They've closed so many stores and have now found their niche in the market. Stores are clean, well stocked, and busy. Now that the company is stabilized, I'm thinking it will be time for Kmart to power ahead and regain market share. The Kmart renaissance is upon us.

Remember that even though there was a profit, there was also a sharp decline in same-store sales. This would mean that there are likely many locations that are still not profitable.

A store closing list was predicted to come out today... Right now, Sears in Boardman, OH has been the only store publicly announced today.
