Any Substantial Policy Changes Since The Ascent of Emperor Nero?

I do know this much… About 1.5 to 2 years ago (or so???) there was a big push to get rid of all or almost all USA contractors. Now lately, there are a TON of in-house (and low-paid, you bet!) contractors in Houston, for example. So there’s one place where Meggot’s mismanagement has been changed in the new era…

I also know that the utterly stupid policies of selling at a loss, to the likes of Microsoft, have come to a halt or mostly a halt. But that change was well underway in the waning days of the reign of The Meggot…

So then the questions: Are they still holding to the policies of never or hardly ever hiring back laid-off ex-employees, not even as contractors?

Are they still doing “forced distribution reviews”, so as to turn everyone into the enemy of everyone else? Killing team play, as the management consultants have been saying for DECADES now?

And finally, are all of the managers still required to LIE about “forced distribution reviews”? That there IS no such thing at HPE? Has anyone asked their manager about this lately? Or do you get laid off for asking?

Inquiring minds want to know!

OP here. It has come to my attention that I lied to y'all, so I must correct it.

As it turns out, the policy of HPE DELIBERATELY LOSING MONEY to large customers like Microsoft and Facebook and so forth, continues un-abated! Upper mis-management does NOT know how to run a railroad, other than to utter wrack and ruin! Things are going from bad to worse, rapidly, it is NOT looking good at all!

(You will not get a mid-year bonus, because you didn't make your numbers, because the top mis-management gave away the candy store!)

New Company Name: H--kers and Prostitutes Enterprise... Still retains the HPE in NASDAQ, business cards, letterhead, logos, etc... So saves money there...

Nope, no real changes in significant policies... Just new marketing-babble buzz-words and jargon, like "PointNext". Makes me think of HP "service agreement" labels like "Total Care", which makes me think about funeral homes, more than it makes me think of computers!

Speaking of marketing babble... We need new razzle-dazzle!

"Hewlett Packard Enterprise" is too long... One might fall asleep by the end of it! And it suggests continuity with Bill and Dave's visions, and so it's not quite honest (to say the least!). It's time for a name change!

I've started a survey of co-workers. Here's results so far. Let's continue the survey, right here, for a suggested name change for HPE... I will put in the tabulated results of our inputs, to the mismanagement, I promise!

Putting in reviews of your co-workers was abandoned years ago, because of "submarining", which means that you "lurk" below the waters, and "torpedo" them by saying (or writing) negative things about your co-workers, so that you can look better, with respect to (compared to) them. Stuff you'd never dream of saying to your co-workers, face to face. The mismanagement finally figured that out, so they stopped soliciting your inputs.

As an example, I had "anonymous" inputs about me made by I-knew-who-it-was, just by what it said... As an engineer in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY industry, I was faulted for writing emails that had TOO MUCH INFORMATION in them!! Like, you lazy readers, just read the summary up top, and skip the rest, if you are that lazy!!! But don't come crying to me, asking me questions that I already answered via email!!! RTFE, dang it! I don't know HOW many times that happened to me! So in "info tech", I sinned by providing too much info... It is like faulting an oil-drilling engineer for finding too much oil, MeThinks!!!

Anyway, mismanagement figured out that "360 reviews" bred too much resentment and "submarining". No disrespect intended to you Navy vets out there...

"Forced distribution reviews" means only so many "A"s passed out are allowed, and so many "D"s and "F"s MUST be passed out, even if the whole group is made of rocket scientists and brain surgeons! So you MUST make your co-workers look bad, so that YOU can look GOOD! It absolutely kills teamwork!

Is this still going on?

Where's this “forced distribution reviews” you're talking about? The last time I had to do a review for a co-worker was under Hurd. Haven't had to do one since then.
