Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Stock is at $1.30/share, there is only 1 place to go from there. Bankruptcy by July !

Stock is at an all time low, I think it mirrors the moral of the company at this point. I don't know how many people will end up in the next round of layoffs in July?

I think you are half right about the earnings driving the next round of layoffs. Let's try and get through Q1 first though, earnings will be announced on May 4th. This 1st quarter of profits, losses, and cost savings will drive what happens for the rest of the year.

I wouldn't speculate any further about changes going forward until this earnings call happens. I am sure some EVP will again talk about a possible sale of a BU or worse another acquisition.

Yes, Q2 ends the week of July 6th. They will take a few weeks to look at all of the number from revenue, cost savings. Different BU's etc. Those earnings are planned for a call on Friday August 3rd. Without getting into details of every BU, If we don't hit certain numbers they will look to RIF again. The target date is planned for July 20th 2 weeks prior to the announcement. The other caveat is if they sell off EarthLink CSMB. I would guess those customers, employees, networks would all go to the high bidder. I'm not really sure what the value is with that customer base or network?

I think they are keeping the next round of layoffs to themselves until last minute

Do you have news about a round of layoffs?? Can you post more info about that? The stock price is easy to check if you have internet. The split stock will hold windstream above water for a little bit longer too.

Just take it one day at a time. Been numerous posts here about looking for a job while you still have a job here. I know this isn't an option for many and I feel horrible for them. If the company fails or succeeds is beyond our control for the most part. I just show up and do what I can do and go home. I am beyond stressing about this job anymore.
