I hope you know most of the comments that are negative are people paid to sit and watch this forum. Divide and conquer always wins.Losing more days or get some hipster replacing you at a lower wage. Or when they get exposed and start cutting just to pay investors. If you think they care about you I have a bridge in Brooklyn I would like you to look at its up for sale.

At this point I’d vote no if it meant I didn’t have to sit through one more meeting with this guy. I have to take a shower now to get the closer talkers spit off of me

A union could have prevented them from implementing the Voc score! Which knocked down many people's reviews. Letting them rate us on a small percentage of our work. For years we had no say on how we're rated. That's the difference.

We all know these company it's greedy and don't care about family , employees, customers or anyone else , but them selfs and think they will succeed by treating us like idiots everyone know there model don't work that s why they lost money and customers in Europe. and now they spin us off in the USA market as a separate company from Europe and now crap hit the fan and we all one shop at a time will vote yes for the union taking control back which is what they don't want to loose , thank God for the labor board , we we sorry you are French and don't mean it in that way , you just blunt and ignorant. Now deal we what you have created.

"Jabba you and ph are two sides of the same coin."

Please do not insult me like this.

me manipulative.... how so? please elaborate.

Jabba - encouraging techs to secure what we have by unionizing.

PH - Continuously deceiving techs to remain AT-WILL so that Altice can maintain full control over the terms of our employment. (e.g. further reduce benefits, increased workload, change work status to 1099, more layoffs, etc)

It's unfortunate that you seem to have no clue about this company's history. ☹🤔

Senior Vice President Hilber expressly testified at the hearing that Respondent does not believe that employees having a union is productive for either the employee or the company...... "Altice, prefers a union-free relationship with its employees and opposes the CWA coming into our union-free workplaces and seeking to represent our employees." Hilber added in his memo that keeping the CWA from organizing Respondent’s employees “remains a top priority” for the company.

If unions do nothing for the labor then why is the company fighting them so hard? Must be some benefits. None of these people who “care” so much about us showed their faces till a month ago. Now they sit in front of us being all sympathetic. How they have to change and they’ll make things better. Time for chances are over

Jabba you and ph are two sides of the same coin. Probably why you hate him so much. Your both manipulative and full of 5h17. You better come clean to these boys about union before they come to your house with pitchforks talking about how you mislead them about union.

If the Hilbert cared so much then why wait till a vote to show up? Maybe because it's his job to manipulate. 1st and last we saw the salesman was voting time in Oakland. Don't be fooled again.

"The only thing you can expect to get is a grievance procedure if you get in trouble"

Clearly, you've never worked in a union shop or maybe you're just a Fat Barry disciple that's only here to discourage others from trying to protect themselves. Which is it?

Every cable worker going on strike is delusional. Never will that happen. There are hundreds of contract companies ready to take your spot. The only thing you can expect to get is a grievance procedure if you get in trouble. NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS. DESPITE WHAT JABBA SAYS.

Altice management has infiltrated this thread.

They're doing exactly what they did last year around this time. If they see a thread with too many positive pro-union responses, they throw a monkey wrench in it with ridiculously weak counter-arguments.

Lodi is a legitimate threat right now because they understand the possible domino effect than can arise after a YES vote.

Don't be surprised if Mr. CEO make cameo appearance @ Lodi shop on April 17th

Can someone answer these questions:

  • Why is management so adamantly against us unionizing?

  • Why are we not hearing any techs from Brooklyn or Oakland complaining about being union? How come management isn't pushing them to decertify?

  • If a gang of foreigners were to break into your house and started taking all your possessions one by one, what would you do? Just sit there?

Lodi field service techs: do not allow yourselves to be manipulated by management's rhetoric!

See that's the problem you're not equal a 2 year guy is not equal to a six year guy nor is a 25 year guy equal to a 2 year vice president. And no one is equal to the owner. There's winners and losers in life not everyone gets a trophy in reality grow up

I just love the way you try to make a argument for not having a union but in the same argument it’s obvious we all need to unionize it’s not perfect but it’s fair if it was a perfect world then we would be treated as equals

Exactly if all the cable workers unionized who would have the power the company or the employees we would have a say

Please ask , The Policemen,Firefighters, Teachers, Plumbers, Electricians, Baseball,Football, Hockey, Basketball Players, Actors,

The difference between those unions and telecom is that number one those are city jobs. Number two if any of them went on strike it would seriously hurt the city so they have leverage and it’s why the city has a clause the prevents them from striking but if they did they would. Be fined. You can’t just hire a fireman or police officer off the street or contract out for teachers and athletes. Though you might be able to do that for plumbers and electricians these are trades that are not easily replaced like it is to replace any striking cable worker. Huge difference. So try again.

Your contract WILL state you can not strike, altice has the say on hiring and termination, and it will include "me too " clause. You guys will not get any time back that was taken away. And for right now yes you will keep what you have until things are hashed out....that is temporary. The company will not give into YOUR demands. You work for altice not the union. Remember that.

You have nothing to loose, but possibly keep your job , and gain respect. All you have now is a feeling of uncertainty, that you can loose your job, and be overworked by this greedy company.

Vote YES Lodi.

make sure you ask Hilbur about what happened to the Shelton call center.

Then compare his response to one of the hundreds of employees that were ultimately let go.

At this point while we are waiting to finish a contract nothing can change or be taken away from us everything stays status quo. So if it takes a year or so everything stays exactly the same as the day we certified so stop staying well what does your contract say. Just remember your an at will employee if they say jump you say how high if they say we are taking more away you say ok thank you we say sorry we are status quo and trust me when I say it burns there a-- that they can't just take from us anymore. Your biggest complaint is dues and oh I don't want them taking my money ITS 1.7 percent of your regular pay not overtime or holiday pay so if your worried about a few bucks then work a few extra hours a week and you won't see the difference.

Post ID: @3lsi+SvVUpr2

the union will stop the company from taking. The company wouldn't be able to take away anything till a contract is up and at that point they would negotiate terms of the contract for us instead of just getting stuff taken away like they did. It would essentially give the voice to us through union representation.

Can you show a contract that gets the sick days, sick and personal pay out, or Christmas bonus back? Oakland? Brooklyn? Any one?

by

Post ID: @3rsg+SvVUpr2

So they're taken away thousands of dollars of benefits, sick time, bonus's and sick time pay outs and you're going to complain about 1.7% of dues? Wake up man.

Post ID: @3cnf+SvVUpr2

So what actually has Oakland gained? A piece of mind? Less work? No overtime? Anyone get a decent raise there? I just don’t see it.

Every other depot can go home at the end of 8 hours and get OT if they want. They still work just like a union tech. For us wanting to know details could you tell us other then piece of mind what you have gained?

Post ID: @2vmi+SvVUpr2

Lol that’s all you Oakland techs say “it’s great” but where’s the details of your contract? Strange that years after you voted in union you have nothing to say about what’s been negotiated. You know why? Because nothing has been negotiated. Nothing ever will. Your currently riding the coat tails of Brooklyn’s contract which isn’t anything but a promise negotiated by the city not your union to keep things as they are before Altice bought cablevision for four years.

You say your stuffing jobs back down our throats but wait until what will be stuffed down your throat when your four years are up.
