Retiree medical ends Jan 1 2019. Anyone around after that will retire on their own nickel for healthcare. We are screwed! Is everyone going to retire early? The downside of a medical condition is huge cost and so is private health insurance. What say you?

This is complete fabrication.....please provide your source. EM still offers medical insurance to retirees.
In America, I’m always surprised by the corporate bootlickers who cheer on companies taking away desirable benefit packages because they don’t themselves have them ... instead of fighting to get them at their own companies. Dragging other people down isn’t the same thing as pulling yourself up.
Not true
Large companies like ExxonMobil have the ability to shoulder the costs of retiree medical. They did it for decades through good and bad times. It was always a core benefit that attracted and retained employees. I would say it was around because it symbolized more than just a future benefit, but a commitment the company has to its workforce and their families. Whatever the reason is, aside from saving a few Dollars, to discontinue retiree medical in the future will amount to a big mistake for the company. This is one cost saving measure that will come back to cost the company more than it thinks it’s s saving. A pledge made to a career employee years ago that gets pulled from under them just when they are approaching retirement is a low blow. Promises made from now on will have little to no value to its core asset, the employee. Shame on ExxonMobil.
Time to retire early before it hits you. The great force out to save money begins.
This is another huge reduction in employee benefits. Exxon is really going downhill as an employer. Sad.
stop whining ! most people don't have/get retiree medical or a company pension
Not going to get your lifetime gold plated heathcare? Waaahhhhhh.... Crybaby. Welcome to reality. Retirement medical is a thing of the past.
