They would only be "economically effective" if they provided identical service for less money. That is not the case. IBM is cutting extremely skilled professionals and replacing them with the cheapest labor available.
Don't understand you americans - you always tell everyone that communism is bad, capitalism is good, open borders Obama bla bla bla, and now you are complaining about jobs that are going to more economically effective people abroad. This is what you fought for during 20th century.
Laid off in 2013 along with 30,000. Trained ppl from China to do my job. Gave replacements carte blanche access to product specs and marketing stats as required by boss and procedure to get severance pkg.
Years later IBM complained about theft of intellectual property by Chinese.
It was NOT theft. IBM mgt required "giving" the China counterparts the info.
I guess they didn't see that coming?
Promises........IBM promised me that I would have a retirement, that I would be able to leave the company when I wanted to. 38 years and was RAed with 1 months severance.... IBM is evil folks. They have no idea what they are doing and we are seeing this once great company go belly up.
Goal is simple, tax break.
Right, just like all the "job openings" that IBM promised different states here in the US - they never happened. Don't fall for it, France! They're just trolling for tax breaks, it'll never happen. It's a "plan", ha.
