Thread regarding IBM layoffs

It is the Jewish Passover...

And how appropriate that so many fattened lambs have been slaughtered at IBM. But take heart, it's not only IBM where fat, entitled lambs have been slaughtered..

Oh no, they're being slaughtered everywhere, in all industries and nations.

so people that work hard and get RA'd are fat lambs that should be slaughtered and you make a reference to a Jewish holiday? As opposed to good people being treated unfairly and being the victim of age discrimination? GO AWAY you bigot and anti-semite.

IBM invented the cloud? I guess that's true if you consider that the "cloud" is just a mainframe with a lot of disk drives. That's like saying Western Union invented Twitter because they were the first to handle long-distance messages.

"Its called Capitalism" No, I think it is called bad management. Capitalism is taking capital and creating growth opportunities for the capital. For example what Amazon, Google and Microsoft have done with cloud computing. IBM may have invented the cloud, a claim I heard an executive make once, but we sure didn't invest sufficient capital to be a leader or even first out of the gate with it. Holding garage sales on products to other companies, wholesale removal of legacy employees, ones that might have been better managed and encouraged to build new business funded by that capital, and hiring of some really cool gals and guys to hang out in cool spaces and be cool...reminds me of ideating.

Watch the commercial, it is prescient and still practiced at IBM by cool young "new collar workers" in cool team spaces and now they don't lay down as a group in the dark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziOG_GHNVq0

It used to work fine for everyone, until the 80's ushered in the era of greed. Now it's very one-sided and workers are getting screwed for the benefit of those at the top. IBM is just one example.

Its called Capitalism. It works. Businesses die, new ones get born. Its bad if you are affected, in the aggregate it works just fine.
