Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

When will the layoffs start?

Now that Toys R Us is as good as gone, how long do you think it will take before we feel the absence in our bottom line and those on top decide to solve the issue the only way they can - with layoffs?

Mattel is having issues as it is, this will just worsen the situation and speed up the impending cuts...

For those of you who are hoping against hope you better be ready to sell yourself. Once you get let go with a pittance because the coffers are bare, you better be ok to be taking less to nothing. Because all the smart people got out while the getting was still good. And you’ll be trying to compete for the leftover jobs with the last ones off the ship as yourselves.

But no, you’re still thinking it’s gonna get better. So you stick with it like a good loyal soldier. Also because you don’t even remember how to make a product. You just know how to ask people to do things. How to push emails around. News flash that’s not a marketable skill.

So save your pennies and dust off your old work. Hope your BS is good. Everyone knows everyone in this industry so don’t take credit for other people’s stuff. You’ll just get humiliated right quick.

Good luck.

It's inevitable. TRU at least gave manufacturers the chance to try new ideas at retail. Amazon isn't that welcoming to untested new to market concepts. Unfortunately the boneheads at mattel haven't really figured out how to market in the social media age and are still thinking flash mobs are relevant and fun for getting the word out.

Really is damn shame.

Living in denial.

There is nothing coming to save the day. There is only the long painful slog into infamy and into the shadow of what the company once was.

There are no signs of redemption.

There is no change of attitudes.

Only the same sad repetition of bad decisions.

Like the drowning scorpion that bit the frog as they crossed the river. It’s in its nature what will doom it in the end.

No need for layoffs, at the rate people are realizing and leaving only the sparse upper management and their brown-noser will be left. Good product and people that actually do the work have already been cost reduced out the the picture.

Layoffs? Mattel? Nonsense! Just keep paddling towards the falls!

What a joke this place is. Once the proletarians lay off all the bourgeois workers, I'm sure everything will improve. Bean counters rule! Kids love playing with line listings, slots & rats, and Powerpoint decks. Lets Cosplay Town Hall! Can I be M-Go?
