Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Laid off over 50? This guy wants to hear from you- no matter when it happened.

Aging in America. Companies that focus their layoffs, RIFS, on employees over 50 need to be stopped. Your chances of finding a whole new job are very slim and if you do the pay will be a fraction of what you were making. This publication is investigative reporting at its best. Let’s help them out!

Latest Honeywell RIF stats- 90% were over 50. And of the remaining 10%? Only 1 was under 40 at age 39. Does that tell a story or what?!

Female, RIF'd at 58 1/2. Didn't find a better, nor even equal, job but there are better perks to this one. Karma will some day bite them on the A$$. But for now, I enjoy my new perks and less stress.

RIFed at 611/2 and after maxing out on medical at $8K for 3 years, there have been no emergency room visits and only $1K in medical last year. I just can't figure out why.

I saw the writing on the wall, several years ago. I downsized, I paid off debts (credit cards, cars}, and maxed out my IRA's.

I did not need to keep up with the Jones.

I thank them every day for letting me go. I also thank them for giving me my health back.

You cannot depend on your company for retirement you have to do it yourself.

I am 59 and left on my own after four trips to the ER for stress related elevated blood pressure. I realized the Honeywell hell hole was not worth my health. I am also trying to put HW behind me. I only think about HW on the first of the month when I receive my pension.

I wish I was an old retiree. ) : I am a 60 year old recent RIF recipient. Severance is fine but eventually runs out. I’ve been job hunting for months seeing this coming but nothing is coming up. Engineer on electrical side, single income. Need benefits. Oops I mean, was a single income now a zero income. Recent RIF was over 90% over 50 year olds. It’s not right. But it’s life.

Interesting. I'm an old retiree now with other issues beyond making a living and dealing with greedy, nasty management. Trying to put that behind me. Last years at HON were horrible.
