Just looking for educated guess as to when ge would start this process. In my opinion I'm wondering why ge hasn't already moved salem, Charlottesville and few other small sites to Greenville or Schenectady. We make the small parts that go with their bigger ones. Any insights would be helpfull, I have two small children and just trying to plan accordingly. Thank you

Gee that is a surprise..consolidating heads under a roof GE actually owns. GE greenville moved a ton of heads off campus ~ 5 years ago. Bout time they started thinking saving some cash there. Bring back more EU 50 Hz work to Greenville as well.
I dont think its a matter of any site being good or bad at whatever it is they do, but how the company can put it together to save on cost and wether or not thats even viable.
Is there a plan in place to move Charlottesville to another site? We keep hearing good things about how the new plant manager there has turned GE Charlottesville around to a LEAN super training site. Why would they move Cville with all the good things happening there?
Greenville is currently moving teams that are in off-campus, nearby leased space back to the GTTL and GTTC. Reason given was to save money on leases (~$1M). Not sure how much space will be left after that happens.
