Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Rome Fell... Again.

Like Watching Rome Fall

One only has to read a sad review like this one to crystallize your purpose:

https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Employee-Review-Seagate-Technology-RVW18522428.htm

After reading this, there are three options:

1) Do nothing different. Watch all your skilled friends get laid off, and then you. Probably the worst option.

2) Proactively leave. A better option.

3) Join with hundreds of your site co-workers and stage a "I'm-mad-as-hell-and-I'm-not-gonna-take-this-sh---anymore" sit-in. Didn't you see Network? This is by FAR the most interesting option. But choose this only if you want your job to improve, see management squirm, and are willing to do a little work to make things better. Highlight the points made by the articulate writer on Rome falling.

Well, your future is up to you. Why don't you choose to have one?

Its really amazing that Seagate pays people like LetMeShowYouTheExit to troll people on this board. They really don't want people to post their long term frustration with Seagate. That said, get your resume out there and find a place where you feel you have a future. I'm sure the second year interns at Seagate realize that there are better places to be by now.

That's 2bad, fbxq. Your departure will likey mean all is lost and that it will just be a matter of time until we are all escorted out the door.

(long pause.... wait for it)

NOT! LOL.

Actually we are all going to have a party when your lazy azz is finally let go. Could not happen soon enough. How does it feel to be replaced by a second year intern? LOL.

Can't keep my nose to the Seagate grindstone, since Seagate will lay me off (soon? in 2 months? 5 months?) That's what people are saying... I and other employees have no confidence in keeping our jobs, so no morale to work hard.

Troll-talk from the (obvious) Trump voter. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black...

I think STX PR robotic response of "our industry is rapidly changing and sometimes that means tough decisions must be made" typifies the mindset of the upper management running the company. It basically broadcasts the message that 'we are broken, no reason to look for fulfilling employment here'. it makes more sense to not respond at all.

LOL. More troll-talk from phucks that don't even work at Seagate.

You guys are amazing.

(amazingly pathetic)

You fail to mention the fourth option:

4) Do your job while Seagate continues to do well. You and all your skilled friends will get bonuses, raises, promotions, and stock options. Probably the best option.

I totally agree..but..That would be a great idea if only everybody would join together, but because of the way seagate divides and conquers we will never get everybody to pull in the same direction. Also with the way seagate encourages A$$kissing the company workforce will always be divided.
