I am in technical sales, 9 years with IBM. I’ve been notified on Friday. Some other folks were cut too. It’s not a big RA in my group as pretty much everyone got axed in 2016 and 2017. I kind of knew it was coming and I was ready when my manager delivered the ‘hint’ (she’s a great person and I know she follows this website – thumbs up for you Ms. ZeroOne)… Anyhow, our numbers keep going down (at least in my vertical) and nobody should be surprised if they get RA’d at any given point in time.
IBM as I remembered it is over and a new era is about to start. I do not know how this new company will look, I am relieved to be out.
