Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Is firing the new layoff?

Is firing the new layoff? Three people have been shown the door at my location in the past two weeks. Really can't figure out why.

Is this the new way of getting rid of people without having to pay them severance?

This is exactly what I needed - in addition to stressing over being laid off, now I get to stress over if I'll be fired for no reason.

I was fired becaus my truck location did not always match the location I billed my time to.

Alot of my time was spent on the phone trouble shooting problems. I'ts hard to be in two places at once.

CHK called it stealing time.

I never stold a second.

If like S TX, there were issues with time sheets. Dudes, your company trucks have GPS on them. They can track where the vehicles are and have been. You can’t be working at the same time your truck is parked at the mall/movie theater. Duh!

There is nothing left of Waynoka. All dried up. How many employees are still holding up?

If anyone does not have their resume up-to-date they better get busy. For sure.. leave oil and gas forever!!! Except maybe a company like Chevron with stability. Oklahoma s---s anyway. What a joke of a state.

Were those 35 given a severance? Or any type of package?

Or were they just shown the door and a “thanks for playing?”
