Will switching from project based to product based make any significant difference?

Sabre goes through yet another cycle of something tried before that failed for at the end we will have an Executive who will sell us out to a Carrier for Money talks. This will only work if our Leadership holds to thier BS and enforces Agile 100% completely instead of given a carrier a date and planning iterations to meet the date.
Roadmapping product release paths is a good practice however agile, airlines are slow about adoption, training, acceptance of delivery. 6 sprints and release is waterfall by another name.
