During the Hoboken town hall today they just announced 8000 layoffs coming up. 5000 from the sale of businesses and 3000 from within. Unbelievable how the executives treat people like pawns. We're just numbers. What a joke.

Why does Fallon still have a job?
For the record, Pearson isn't legally obligated to offer any package. In the past they have, and it's been generous, but if money is so tight, the packages may get smaller and smaller.
I been with Pearson 6 Months (sales) I was let go. They are asking the sales reps that are being let go to apply for the new positions.
Pearson's latest out-sourcing is abysmal treatment to their employees. No unemployment insurance and no severance period. Their statement is either go to the outsourcer or consider yourself terminated (fired). Employees with double digit years of service cast out on their ears with nary a benefit. This is why Pearson S---S.
It’s not Fallon’s fault all you negative, Winey, ungrateful people. You don’t deserve to work at pearson based on your comments. Wake up!
Really? He confronted someone after the "town hall"? Sounds like the village idiot. What I wouldn't do for the return of Marjorie. This Fallon character is an ex government pencil pusher with the personality of a wet fart. Ruining this company and people's lives. Well done sir.
Also heard that someone started a heated exchange with Fallon during the second meeting in NJ and that Fallon then confronted that employee in a negative way after the town hall.
Pearson hasn’t offered 1 month per year of service in severance packages in over a decade. A typical package is two weeks per year of service for most staff; high-earners and senior execs get three per year of service. Some include health insurance for the duration of the package, and a few can negotiate other concessions.
If the unfortunate happens, don’t sign anything right away - take the time to read everything, and maybe even pay a lawyer to look it over for things you might miss, or want changed before you sign. It never hurts to ask - I know someone who got their health insurance paid out for a full year, longer than the severance payments themselves.
I was laid off in November and got 2 weeks severance for every year worked.
3000 cut globally or 3000 cut in the USA?
Anyone know if they're still giving out layoff packages (1 month pay for every year) ?
