The union has no control of layoffs. Thank the union for securing a 90 day job search opportunity before being let go, And a severance package. Blame Centurylink management for not taking action upgrading the outside plant in order to compete.

The union did nothing when a bunch of us was laid off this year. The area rep showed up once, calls to the union hall were never answered and messages left were never returned. I guess the new motto is to side with management in hopes of saving there job. Union leaders are the real SCABS.
I laugh every time you union guys say....has the union been notified, like it will make a difference. CWA stood by and did nothing except make some noise while we got laid off. Then complained a little bit afterwards. Nothing changed. Everyone ledt behind still paying $80 a month for nothing.
