Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Nervous ahead of tomorrow

I really hope that May 4 rumors turn out to be false, but I am still nervous ahead of tomorrow.

There was too many small and large layoffs lately for me to be able to ignore any rumor outright.

I wish job security was actually a thing at DXC, but I guess that's too much to ask for.

Grads want sponsorship, career advancement and a good organisational culture. Reading their reviews of DXC, they feel they are left alone, given nothing to do, no training and hate the atmosphere of job cuts. I doubt that will stop them wanting to get a foot in the door, even if just to put a big company on heir cv.

The company I work for puts a lot of focus on grads, study assistance for further ed, exams, study leave, etc and gives them responsibility for client facing jobs fairly quickly, whereas in DXC I seem to remember they were treated like admin assistants working for managers who didn't know how to use them. But I don't think that has changed judging recent online grad reviews. Some even reporting they were made redundant within 6 months of joining and write 'WTF!'

They laid off 300 graduate trainees in Cobalt and Erskine in decemeber, Muppet Mike announced at his UK town hall last week that he was going to start a new initiavte recruiting graduates in the UK.

Has not stopped yet... I just got a heads-up that I am on the list (although not officially notified yet).. 30 years in and was getting certifications, on my dime, to stay ahead of the company's plan to "educate" existing staff on their digital initiatives. Guess that will benefit someone else... pretty insane place.

Please don't pay too much attention to May 4th. Many leaders are currently trying to work out how to make the headcount reductions that have been demanded over the next few weeks. UK folks will get proper notice period or PILON (payment in lieu of notice), US staff and Southern Europe, will typically find out on Thursday or Friday and be out of the door the same day. There's only really one person to blame for all this. Please don't kill the messenger!

Yes I heard of several let go today.. some were kinda shocking sales, or AGM type of roles.. I guess nothing should shock me? But I did think sales were safer... if we are in US and did not hear today - think we are safe for a few weeks? Or will this continue for a few more weeks/months?

DXC is among the worst of bottom tier companies. You are nothing to them but a zit in their groin. You will be popped and forgotten with no notice nor remorse.

I was invited to a meeting - and went to the room and got fired on the spot - needed to give my badge and leave, and this after more then 20 years of service. It was really out of the blue, I would not have imagined this from happening . So no, they do not always tell you upfront.
