Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

You can always quit

Just wondering why don't all the bitter people here who believe DXC is so horrible simply quit? There are plenty of other jobs in this economy that I'm sure will make you much happier than you are here.

If I was that miserable somewhere I'd certainly already be on my way out.

Just a friendly suggestion.

DXC folk can always jump ship to HPE Micro Focus and work with Tricky Nick Wilson. At least you will receive chocolates and lollies thrown at high velocity.

I only have a couple months to go until I can retire, so I don't really want to look elsewhere if I can possibly help it. My skills are current, so that's not the issue, but finding someplace to work at my age is another story.

Clue in.....

Not everyone one here is a techie! I work on the service side and I am north of 45 so there is little out there for me to even apply to - let alone be hired! I go in every day and do my job while I look for another position anywhere outside the tech industry. It is not as easy as everyone seems to think it is to "just quit" and get another job. I cannot relocate due to my financial situation and my family situation. I already drive an hour each way to work which puts more financial stress upon me and my family. So, no I can't "just quit" as the OP and so many others have suggested!

Good warning to all... "It took a while, though... my bitterness over my treatment at EDS/HP/HPE spilled into many of my interviews"

Forbes' list of America's Best Employers just came out. HP (neither of the variations) nor DXC are anywhere in the list. But my new employer is in the top 200. :) It's been a great two years here ..... better pay walking in, guaranteed yearly raises, awesome work environment, and leadership that cares.

DXC is a wonder in how a business can continue under a failed leadership team. This company should be a part of every college business textbook in how NOT TO RUN a company. It must be god awful working for this company with so man ex employees slamming it on a daily basis. Next time someone asks you where you work you should take the 5th amendment. As i look at all the the folks on facebook, Linked In, Twitter I see most NOT ALL are losers who are left at DXC and cannot or will not take another position outside of the company. They still don't know that they are not valued. That is one big mental block or a piece of there brain is missing.

Yeah, I left CSC 13 months ago and was very bitter about the way people and myself have been treated in the last 5 years or so. I had about 14 really good years, but the last five were crap. Seeing no brain d--khead$ getting promoted to management positions with no idea how to manage. No raises in salary, and all the rest that people are stating on this site. I really feel sorry for the people that are there now under this new company DXC. I retired when I took VR and I am very disillusioned in pursuing another career in I.T. if DXC's tactics are the norm now. Very sad company. I can only see it NOT being around in the near future.

Sadly, it's not easy for some to quit. I did 18 months ago, and I'm very happy... 2 raises, 2 (very nice) bonuses, I was hired in at a market salary (20% more than my HPE salary) and I've been involved in high profile projects at my current company. I'm extremely happy. I pop on here once and a while, to see how my old colleagues are faring. It took a while, though... my bitterness over my treatment at EDS/HP/HPE spilled into many of my interviews; part of me had become resigned to always be stuck in that job. It's also not easy starting a career all over again after being employed by one company for decades - you have a certain comfort level, but I will tell you it's cold comfort. Don't be complacent.

The problem here is there are lot of people who have "QUIT" but still here collecting their pay-cheques doing nothing. We see that in delivery, sales and all over. They hide behind the numerous re-orgs that come up. If only those loosers move out permanently - there is some hope for this once iconic silicon valley brand.

I also quit some 6 months ago, but track these posts to see what's happening to my colleagues who are left behind in DXC, facing worry and pain caused by Mike Lawrie and his sycophants.

So go easy @SXZZUNh; some people appreciate having this platform.

I did - 16 months ago.

Two bonuses and a raise later, and I only wish I'd done it earlier ;)

Apparently OP is part of HR and has begun Phase 1 of their new "DXC Voluntary Reduction in Force" process.

@SXZZUNh You can always stop trolling these boards. There are a whole bunch of reasons why people don't quit.
