Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

An open letter to BHGE

With oil fast approaching $300+ we stand on the precipice of another golden era in the North Sea. The Granite City will once again attract all kinds of klondike chancers. Let us learn from past mistakes as we grow our resources to match the inevitable increase in demand for our technical expertise. This time we should grow organically, naturally, from within and not rely on these fly by night outsiders who are the first to leave when the going gets tough. Stick with who you know, not what you know!

I know a company who charges 10% of your weekly begging income in return for a prime spot on the most exclusive streets in Aberdeen. They also provide tea and coffee during the night. Email me at duncan1975@gmail.com for more info

There is a vacant spot in Rubislaw Den right now that brings in 36k a year

2k a month tax free for begging on the street at weekends appeals to me. How do I get started doing that? Do I need a license from the council or something or just show up and pick a spot? Lol

After I got laid off I became a full time volunteer at the Salvation Army. I make about £70 a day depending on the weather.

As an ex-Baker Forklift driver I had no option but to start begging during the weekends on Union Street after I was paid off so I can pay the bills. It brings in around 2 k per month which is not bad because Aberdonians are very generous but I regularly get beaten up by drunken revellers. Thankful for the opportunity at the same time and it helps pay the mortgage and dentist bills but if anybody is looking for an experienced and qualified forklift driver please let me know.

Aberdeen is THE global centre of excellence for sub sea engineering with over than 60% of the worlds subsea projects carried out here. Since I have been laid off 1 year ago I found a job with the local council cutting the grass at various golf courses around the city. Even with this job I can still maintain the payments on my Mercedes C220 and my 4 br detached house in Kingswells. My colleagues who have no formal qualifications and only secondary school education drive Audis, Mercs, etc and all own their own homes. I have no intention of going back to Oil & Gas now.

Where else in the UK could I have this quality of life? Only in the Granite City.........the streets are truly paved with gold. Thank you Aberdeen for this special lifestyle.

They were talking about this at the Marks and Sparks cafe today and how now is the best time to buy property in Aberdeen because prices will probably be doubling in the next couple of years
