Thread regarding Follett layoffs

This company is nothing without the stores

No offense to the people from the HO, I'm sure many of them are hardworking. But to think they get paid more than front line managers, without having to deal with the headaches and interference from our campus communities, it's just insulting. This company is nothing without the the stores, and the fills in the stores should be taking home the real salaries, not folks in Chicago who never gave to do any of the actual work that drives all of our revenue.

Bumped from @SQCIFMv-5mhy, agree 100 percent.

You should see the new employees that start each month at the ivory tower including refilling positions that were previously laid off.

The home office only exists to SERVE the stores. Too bad the folks at the Ivory Tower don't realize that. Look at the money they've dropped on the HO that would be better invested in the field.

Very true. HO doesn't exist to serve itself. Without the people running the stores, the HO would be obsolete. I think things need to be decentralized... Let stores have more say in how the stores are run (because we know our campus and our clientele); then cut HO staff, and redirect those savings to the people in the field. How the higher up don't see this as the path forward is maddening.
