Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Shortage

Not sure if it's all district but seems to be a manager shortage out there. The bench is full of unless Smits for replacements.

Why would anyone expect FS to be able to sell anything when everything we sell costs 2 or 3 times more than anywhere else?

Stop changing the prices on everything! Every day there are a ton of price changes to do. Set the price and move on. Task to do that are unnecessary...the CVS way.

Look Front Store is a after thought. It's a huge business in decline. Top Leaders don't spend any time on Front Store thereby leaving this part of the business in disarray. Recently promoted Macy's leadership to head up CVS Retail, another mistake. Analysis Paralysis. He should be working for OMB not CVS.

CVS Management needs to sell off the Front Store business to a company that commits to it.

Amazon, Target, Walmart.

CVS needs smarter leaders.

What scoring system???

Scoring system states all low volume stores with no profits are healthy while large volume stores with millions in profits are unhealthy! Who in the world would rather have lower profits ?

CVS is ignoring FS because, in my opinion, they have an end game which does not include FS. Why are the analysts still touting CVS Stock? CVS is going all in with this merger with Aetna to become a leader in Healthcare not Retail. The only question is will Amazon crush them like the c---roaches they are!

We posted earnings today... FS up 1.6% from last year(last year was down 4.8) not much to brag about here. Besides pharmacy buisness killing it. Total 998mil in profit for the quarter. Quote from chain drug news:

Such a dissection of the numbers may seem unfair; after all, CVS did generate growth no matter where this growth came from. However, a forensic examination is important as it underscores that the true retail part of CVS isn’t delivering. As we have noted many times before, this is a major lost opportunity and one that CVS should remedy. Sadly, we see little sign of this happening and the retail offer remains down-at-heel and dingy, with no flair or imagination.

Well put i think. Even the major financial players in the country see cvs is failing in FS. There is a way to save it but cvs does not want to think outside the box with FS. Got to spend money to make money

If we think Amazon & friends are done, think again. They're searching for a CEO to head the healthcare venture. Don't be surprised if stock goes below $50

We were told 2017 was a transition year...transition is another word for chaotic at CVS!

Same here in Sf Bay Area. Lots of open store management positions with no applicants. Any prospective employees who would think about working at CVS would walk in and see one clerk and store manager in the store by themselves. Now why would that encourage them to want to work for us... One quick google of “working for cvs” will produce some dead accurate responses of how day to day life is working for us. Most stores minimum staffing and no actual management skills are being used when your leading yourself

Same thing with PICs. We lost a PIC in our district, and most of the team went with him, and the new DL doesn't have RX background, so he has no clue how bad everything is. They've routinely been 80-100 pages is the red for the past month.

We lost one SM and one DL here, someone will be getting promoted into the DL job so that will leave 2 stores open, with a pitiful bench.

I'm out in two months (moving, not transferring) and 5 stores out of 13 are challenge stores in my district, with no bench SMITs ready. I don't even know what they are doing anymore.

It will crash big. Sad but company does not understand what it truly takes to be a SM.

Definitely true here in Norcal! Three STL positions open right now. No SM’s in those stores for months. Two useless SMITs who will fail as soon as they get promoted. Managers are getting fed up with the company’s BS and leaving for other similar jobs where the work life balance will be better and easy day to day operations. When its two ppl in store all day and the stl is the one doing all the work, can burn you out quick.
