Successful Sears Store Weathers the Storm

Supposedly this Oregon Sears is successful and profitable. Are any employees here familiar with this store? The article looks like a piece of fluff journalism with no substance. Just because the store hasn't closed yet doesn't make it a success.

Our Kmart is successful only because of its location as well. There is literally no real major retail competition for at least 30 miles and you have to go down a mountain road to do so. But as a few others have said, won't matter if the whole of the company is rotting at the core.

The DC truck that services my Oregon Kmart store is 1000 miles away in Southern California. How the hell is that profitable?

Must be a PITA for the poor drivers who have to haul their warehouse trucks to them out in the middle of nowhere (as far as there being any other stores for the DC to service, I mean).

I know this store. The nearest sears fls to the south is 150 miles and 230 miles to the north. All the Kmart’s in the area are gone and now the nearest one is over 200 miles in either direction. Ultimately they may do well, but it makes no difference if the company is tanking.
