Mollenkopf is on borrowed time, there is no doubt about that. He has gone all-in on NXP and that will NOT happen. Alternative plans are ridiculous, stock-buy back, increase of dividend? That is what pencil makers do. A tech company resorting to that is admitting to the world they are lost, have no innovations, growth or acquisition strategies, and are whining for mommy...
Mollenkopf has mismanaged negotiations with the most powerful customer in the world and in the process has backed QCOM into a corner as everybody else piles in behind. He has neglected obvious tactical/strategic moves that provides, etc. In the meantime, he has been so focused on the NXP deal he has neglected everything else.... How is this guy still in charge? He is the worst CEO in modern history...
Go to the hedge funds investing in Qualcomm, try to convince them to contest the board elections and nominate their own slate of directors (just like what Broadcom was trying to do). See if they can get a majority of their candidates elected, and if so they can easily remove the CEO and put their own guy in place. Good luck with that.
I was affraid because I didn't knew that anyway I will end up with the same outcome.
Everyone knew and knows that I was right.
It's too late...if I would have done something while I was there maybe I could prevent the remains of my team being belittled further by someone less educated than them and me.
You had your chance. But you were too afraid.
These questions are hard to answer.
Given the fact that the first people to be whipped out when comes about savings are the ones not with less skills but less power, the ones on top will get rid of us "little ones" to save their asses.
I taught about this too before I was let go regardless my efforts to meet their needs.
My issue was with someone else...a sn@ke that she treated people like crap. Anyone below her.
And guess who would have been protected if I would have gone to HR? Not me for sure!
