I know several laid off collegues and its kinda sickening to see that there are plenty of positions they are quite able and willing to do..............but currently occupied by H1Bs.

Would a laid off staff engineer be willing to do role of a snr H1B ? Sometime, sure ! But that opportunity is not created or offerred by Q. Outrageous.

How is California "putting immigrants first"?

If you want to protect your job then use your brain and stop allowing corporations to have complete control over your job and your life and put into public office people who will look out for your interests, not the company's.

Oh, you'd rather scapegoat other workers because of their skin color? Or blame the government while voting for pols who are hostile to your economic interests? Then I have no sympathy for you.

Are you crazy? In California, immigrants pick the food crops. Do you want to starve or pay higher prices? Immigrants take the jobs that no one else can afford to take or want to take, like working in the fields hand picking crops for pay by the bushel not by the hour.
