I just heard some dude on medical leave dying from cancer Was laid off today.... is this for real?
What kind of people would do this horrible thing?

I know about a similar situation where the person was laid off while on medical leave for cancer and was getting treatment but was planning to come back soon. This is just so f---ng sad.
It depends on how the decision was made. If his/her entire team (or technically, their roles) were geo shifted, then it’s horrid, but explainable.
If he was rated poorly and cut as a result while others in the same role stayed, that’s pretty rough.

No company hires someone to die; people are hired to work. If they can’t work, they are of no value. This is the basic business model.
Using your logic, nobody should ever retire... they should just remain on the company payroll until they crap out. That’s not how it works Comrade.
That’s den cold. I would hire the best lawyer in town and call all local media .

Why should we keep some guy on the payroll who is kicked back in an easy chair at home on an IV drip?? If you can’t do the job, for whatever reason, you are not welcome here.
