I think I'll write an app that just posts a layoff rumor ever 3 weeks. Probably 50/50 chance it'll be right and maybe it'll save you fear mongers some time.

Lol.. love the post. Sounds like the freak that was posting 'smell what the rock is cooking'. Oh well.. all is good till next quarter.. I guess. We could get a magic 8 ball too.. as long as every side of the cube had yes printed on it.
Will there be more layoffs . YES
Will customers continue to flee Windstream .. Yes
Will the executives continue to get millions of dollars of bonuses a year and millions in seververance packages .. Yes
Will there continue to be naysayers to troll this board.. Yes
Will employee moral continue at its all time low.. Yes

There are a few customers that loved us, but we are turning our backs on them.
Guys, literally every customer hates WS. Think about it. When have you ever heard anyone ecer hold WS in high regard as a customer? They are one of the lowest bars in the industry and other more relevant isps use them as jokes in their presentations seeing as how they set the bar so low that a toddler can step over it.
Literally every single business in my life that you say the name WS they shudder at the thought. The company is dead they cant compete. SDWAN is a buzz word of old technology. Load balancing, redundancy, and intelligent circuit selection. And now every big player is keen on throwing the buzz word in their product lineup (and charging for it) for every idiot who thinks sdwan is some new amazingness from the heavens.
There's a likely reason the internal communication has been so bad. They simply don't know what to say, because it's just that uncertain, and thus don't want to make any promises about security, culture, or commit to anything because it'll likely backfire. So instead you get book reports from CEO and other fluff.
If Windstream communicated that there would be layoffs and when, like other large companies do, morale among employees would be a little better and we wouldn't be skittish all the time. The only communication from the company is that we're making great strides then unexpected layoffs, and the resultant unreliable rumor mill.
It’s NOT a rumor. 2 techs in South Carolina was let go. It’s not a big massive layoff but it is happening today. I believe the ones on here saying it’s fake news are high up people in windstream just saying that. What needs to happen is Tony Thomas needs to go. And all his buddies that they hiring and then 6 months later taking a big package to leave it’s complete BS. I believe they are intentionally making the company go bankrupt.

The big take away is that we are transforming into a software company and not a telco. They are making these announcements to let everybody know the direction of the company.
In the next few quarters the layoffs will reflect this. Less network, back office, etc. More software, innovation, open source, white boxing. Get away from closed sourced vendors, Cisco, Lucent, and Juniper's days are numbered.

Confirmed, the rumors are true that every couple weeks there will be more rumors. This will continue indefinitely.
