Don't Buy IBM -- It Lacks Sustainable Competitive Advantage

The right CEO can make a big difference -- just look at how well Microsoft has done thanks to the

successful cultural change managed by Satya Nadella.

Until IBM gets a new one, it will lack a sustainable competitive advantage. Avoid this stock.

Hopefully someone on the BoD follows this board.

In addition to the C-Suite the Board of Directors needs to go too. My God they're allowing this stuff to happen!! They are so clueless. For IBM to survive they need to gain back customer confidence. To do this, they need to respect the employee who in-turn ensures their work and efforts keep customers happy. I would really like to know what NEW customers IBM has obtained over the last 4-5 years. My guess is this number is anemic.

https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-reportedly-tells-tesla-231610081.html

For instance: "Walk out of a meeting or drop off a call as soon as it is obvious you aren’t adding value. It is not rude to leave, it is rude to make someone stay and waste their time," Musk writes.

Thanks Elon. Dear Ginni:

At IBM only cronies are allowed to walk out of meetings. The rest are under threat of insubordination for speaking their minds. You have unwittingly encouraged bullies over five years, instead of creative thinkers.

For a change, why don't you walk around the company in person and take a look for yourself at what your management team really manages. Stop depending on your C-suite and sweet-talking senior management. See first-hand what a political mess IBM has become in 5 years.

Or please ask your successor to make it their first order of business in case you aren't around after the 24th.

Your friend in difficult times.

IBM needs a reset of its C-suite.

These folk lack the technical smarts that is the hallmark of leaders of technological companies.

No mistake here - this is a firmly entrenched crony network that needs a sledgehammer to dislodge.

Shareholders should demand a C-suite from outside IBM, and house-cleaning to rid of any management (all the way down the hierarchy) that does not innovate and monetize each year.
