IBM over payment threats

I was on transition to retirement and had agreed to leave voluntarily by march 31 2018. I found another position and left in mid january. I was nicer than my instincts and gave notice via workday as opposed to letting them figure out I wasn't showing up anymore. Anyway they went overboard and deposited an extra check a month after I left. Then they called said it would be reversed. So they got that back the next day. Then I got a threatening let that I had been overpaid by $2800. Then a week later a check for $36 with a very odd stub with all negative values. Then a short time later a letter that I was overpaid $300 and a couple of bucks. The threat is that I won't be able to work at IBM again if I don't send a check and that they will turn it over to collections. Anyone know if they will damage my credit score. I'm OK with not working there again.

You would think they've had enough practice terminating employees to have the process down. Funny thing op for transition to retirement is pretty much one click. Entering departure in workday fairly easy except you can select retirement for a reason unless you're leaving at the end of a month. So I had to choose a different excuse as I was moving to a different employer the following monday. As you might expect since I was offered t2r that I've been working for a while and actually have worked a lot of places. This is the first time I've seen something this stupid.

Wow. They can't even handle basic HR tasks. If IBM can't outline (with a timeline) the payment mess you received, I'd just ignore them. Use the money and take the family out to dinner.
