Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Is IBM On Anyone's IT Roadmap?

As I've mentioned on this site before, IBM is rarely considered by companies planning their IT future directions. People in IT know you're taking a risk with any software, services or cloud solution they pedal. They're continuing to mask exactly where these "people cuts" are happening ... and that should scare anyone in a position to cut a PO. In the long run, IBM will need to exert an enormous amount of effort just to gain or gain back customer trust and confidence. So, as of this writing, they may post a favorable 1Q 2018 number today however, as far as future quarterly results go, I just don't see it. Five years from now they will have re-trench to a smaller version of themselves. If you're an IBM employee or contractor, no matter what age you are, you need to actively look elsewhere for employment that maps to your skill sets. Life is too short to be treated the way they treat people; ignoring those responsible for their past success. Nothing will change until there's a new CEO and executive staff to re-set things. Sad.

Who is gonna turn it around?

Employees are getting screwed for decades now, I am giving 50 pct of what I can give. Even that is generous.

No, between the way they've treated their employees and their sh--ty products they can go rot.

Not if I have anything to say about it. IBM is obviously spiraling straight into the ground.

IBM is only on the Roadmap if there is legacy mainframe, AIX, or AS/400 applications still in the enterprise. Watson seems to be a failure, thrown out of numerous accounts. Alexa, Siri, and Google closed the gap and the lead IBM had after Jeopardy a decade ago.
