Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Loyal Employees?

I've seen multiple posts on this site with people claiming to be loyal employees, and ending up getting walked. It's time to grow up. Be loyal to yourself. Dell shows no loyalty to you. Employees are just overhead in the corporate worlds eyes, and the more overhead they can dump, the less it costs to run the business since it reduces, salary output, office space, infrastructure requirements etc..

Don't ever think that Dell has any loyalty to you.

My wife was one of their best specialists. They allowed her to bust her behind and solve some really big problems before laying her off yesterday. 7 years and no appreciation. On top of that, guess who got promoted? The same boys club. Her "boss" was inept. This tech giant is going down the drain.

For companies employees are means to an end, no one creates jobs for charity or to solve the unemployment problem. Investors invest X to get an minimum 10X return. Any average reasonably successful entrepreneur make money at 30-40% CAGR. Likewise, for employees companies must be means to an end. Loyalty is virtue of those who can't find another job.

Not hardly. Calling Dell the worlds biggest start up only shows what a narcissist MD actually is, and his total lack of understanding of startups. Dell is a bloated dinosaur of a company and so is MD and his boy JC.
