It's truly amazing the number of quality people who have left the company over the last couple of years. Some were part of the layoffs and were people who were loyal to the company and were good to high performers. Some made too much money (apparently the company doesn't place as high of an importance on performance) and some others they dumped because of age. Yet others were terminated or retired due to new management being intimidated or threatened by them. Like the treasurer who seems to think he knows everything and is here to rescue the rest of us. Finance has lost quite a few people to other companies and some wonder if Marathon might consider a name change. The VP of Land and Marketing suddenly retires and we all know that doesn't raise any eyebrows. Are we on a sinking ship with this group of execs or can they possibly have a strategy that might work in the long term?
