Taking Away Vacation Benefits

I've heard that QCOM is going to take away everyone's vacation days. That's just wrong. Only 10% of companies have that policy. Once a company that everyone wanted to work for because of the great benefits. What a shame.

I can confirm no more WFH for me. My director had a meeting and told me he wasn’t going to re-up it. It’s cool though. It’s such a nice work environment I want to be at the office every single day... smh

It’s the same policy as at Broadcom.

In Broadcom it applies to everyone.

Worked out ok for me when I was there 5 years ago. It just means you can’t save up days and get them paid out. Of course there is more chance of abuse. Guess that’s why they only made this change for directors and above.

They took away the red pens in San Diego like 15 years ago. The Haifa office still has them, I steal red pens from there when I visit.

I heard there will be no more WFH, and a three strikes rule to attendance. Come in late, leave early, or sneak out and hop in your car then return later are strikes. Three times and you’re gone. 5 sick days total for the year.

Many tech companies have done so. It’s about removing the cost carrying vacation liability on the books.

Went through the change at my last company and after all the complains and moaning it was biz as usual.

I think you meant to say that they won't allow vacation carryover and institute a use or lose rule.
