Thread regarding Sears layoffs

California store #1438 closing

I haven't seen any news or anyone posting about 1438, but I just got intel that store is closing. Its one of California stores in a big city. I believe its a leased so maybe sales weren't keeping up with lease and overall expenses. This comes from an urban city with lots of traffic and cash flow despite they are still closing.

I wonder if this was part of the list that is supposably coming soon.

Heard a similar rumor today about Woodfield(I work in a competitor's store) that it was doing the same or at the very least consolidating into one floor.

It did seem there were some seritage ones last week that made the news and some that didnt. Not sure if this store was part of that list. Some really had boom in sales that first day or two after like Wilmington while others that weren't in news saw no change. It seems like it would be smart for the company to leak the news, it gets the fools to come out and spend just because they assume they're getting a deal

Which store is this? Can we check if its seritage? If its profitable it's being closed for the real estate value probably.
